Richard Duckett is a historian specialising in British special operations in Burma. He has taught history and politics since 2004, completed his doctorate in 2015, and continues to publish original archival research at soeinburma.com.

At Chiselbury he is the author of Jungle Warrior: Britain’s Greatest SOE Commander (2025), the first full biography of Lt. Col. Edgar Peacock. The book includes a foreword by Field Marshal Lord Richards and draws on exclusive access to family papers to tell Peacock’s story from recruitment to guerrilla command in Burma.
